Edmund's Tanka: Smoke

From a foul stench
In goes a dark plume of smoke
The smoke of black death.
Cough! Cough! Smoke makes us all sick
Sick of sadness and fighting

  1. the description of all the smoke and ash is amazing and how you showed what happenes when you breathe in smoke and how it affects people. In the end you said sick of sadness and fighting so and I can relate to that because I had a house fire and we were all sad but not because the house burnt down but because we were upset for the person who might have lost their life because they inhaled too much smoke.

  2. There is a lot of detail in your poem which allows me to realize how something as little as smoke can make you give up on something as big as fighting for your life.

  3. I like the detailed description, and how you used certain literary devices. You did give away the imagery a little too early, but other than that, good job.

  4. I really like what you are conveying in this poem, and the message I got was that people are done with fighting and want to see the good in the world. I really like this, because when people hear the word smoke the associate it with violence and you took that an d made something of it, great job!
